I love the employee bit and I do agree that this group is definitely in the arena. I also think the media is a stakeholder that's definitely in the arena as well.
I struggle to accept that everyone is in the arena though. Plus I worry it kind of gives the same level of credit to talkers and doers. I don't know mehn. Perhaps will publish a response piece when I've articulated my thoughts on this issue.
Thanks for the feedback and comment. A recurring critical response this has gotten is that it seems I am absolving lazy commentators and also putting some talkers on the same level as doers. That was a miss by me in the article.
Back to the sports analogies - Stephen A's voice has weight, but not the same weight as LeBron. What I am trying to push against is the LeBrons of any space trying to silence and diminish the weight of the commentators and other people in the arena who have earned their rightful place in the arena.
There is a hierarchy in every space worldwide, but those who earn presence should not be silenced irrespective of their position on the ladder.
